Paros -der diskrete Charme der Kykladen

Auf Paros ist Naoussa das Postkartendorf schlechthin, zwischen blauen und weißen Fassaden und Fischerhütten.

Trendig ohne Bling-Bling zu sein, vervielfacht die griechische Kykladeninsel Paros seine Vorzüge, um Ästheten anzusprechen, die in Blau und Weiß verliebt sind. 

Paros erfreut sich wachsender Erfolge. Sie ist nach Mykonos, einer mittlerweile hoffnungslos überfüllten und überteuerten Partyinsel, und  der unvergleichlichen Königin der Kykladen, Santorini , auch die beliebteste Insel der Kykladen . 

Es muss wohl  etwas Wahres dran sein, dass es mit seinen weichen und ländlichen Landschaften, seinen malerischen Dörfern und seinen schönen Sandstränden viel Charme ausstrahlt. Genießer schätzen seine modern-raffinierten oder traditionellen Adressen. Während Familien es dank der Vielzahl von Freiteitaktivitäten und Wassersport schätzen, die dort ausgeübt werden können.

Diese Saison ist in ganz Griechenland aufgrund der abflauenden Coronavirus-Krise eine Gelegenheit, diese kleine aber feine Vorzeigeinsel der Kykladen neu zu entdecken.

Parikia, Naoussa, Lefkes: die Dörfer, die man gesehen haben muss

PARIKIA, DER HAFEN

An der Bucht der Insel liegt Parikia, die Hauptstadt von Paros mit ihrem Passagier- und Handelshafen und der Mühle, ihrem "eingetragenen Warenzeichen".

Dort landen wir vor einer weißen Mühle im Trubel der Autos. Man möchte fliehen und doch sobald man das Labyrinth der Gassen betritt, wirkt der Charme dieses kykladischen Dorfes, insbesondere wenn man auf die Mauern der alten venezianischen Festung trifft, die aus den Säulenfässern eines antiken Tempels gebaut wurde. 

Verpassen Sie nicht den Besuch der im 4. Jahrhundert gegründeten Katapoliani-Kirche und ihres kleinen byzantinischen Museums mit erhabenen Ikonen oder des archäologischen Museums mit seinen reichen Statuen: Paros-Marmor war für seine Lichtdurchlässigkeit bekannt. Ein Drink bei Sonnenuntergang in Parikia ist ein Muss . Ein ruhiger und angenehmer Ort, um es zu genießen, ist die Evinos Bar, befindet sich in einem alten Haus in der Zitadelle und ist bekannt für die Qualität seiner Cocktails.

Tavernen in griechisch Blau in Naoussa am Hafen auf Paros

Mit seiner kleinen Jetset-Seite ist Náoussa das Postkartendorf schlechthin, zwischen blau-weißen Fassaden und Fischerhütten. Rund um seinen schönen Hafen sind trendige Bars und schicke Tavernen verstreut: Die berühmtesten befinden sich an jedem Ende und tragen denselben Namen, Barbarossa . Links das mediterran-sushi Bar-Restaurant, rechts die bei jungen Leuten beliebte Bar mit nächtlichem quirligem Ambiente. Die vertraulicheren und raffinierteren Adressen sind in den Gassen versteckt. Am Abend werden wir den kreativen Tisch von Elda, dem griechisch-belgischen Koch des Open Garden, der aus Gemüse aus seinem Gemüsegarten kocht , nicht verpassen . Weder die begehrten Cocktails noch die leichte Speisekarte von Fotis , einer hübschen kykladischen Bar mit Blick auf den kleinen geheimen Strand hinter dem Hafen.

Lefkes -das wohl schönste Dorf auf Paros

Paros

Paros ist mit 186 Quadratkilometern neben Naxos und Andros eine der groesseren Inseln der Kykladen. Paros mit Antiparos liegen westlich Naxos, ca. 90 Seemeilen von Piraeus entfernt.

Mit den normalen Faehren erreicht man Paros ab Piraeus oder Rafina in ca. 4 Stunden, die modernen Schnellfaehren (Flying Dolphin) benoetigen fuer die Strecke Piraeus - Paros ca. 2 h 30 bis 3 Stunden. Autos koennen mitgenommen werden. Ab Hafen Parikia auf Paros kann man taeglich mit diversen Faehren andere Inseln, wie z.B. Mykonos, Delos ( 25 min.)oder Naxos anfahren.

Die Hauptorte der Insel sind Parikia (Faehrhafen) sowie Naoussa mit einem der schoensten und lebendigsten Fischerhaefen der gesamten Aegaeis. Sehr schoen liegt auch das kleine weisse Dorf Lefkes ca. 8 km entfernt von Naoussa. Aber auch die andeten kleinen Doerfer der Insel Paros, wie Marmara oder Prodromo sind auf guten Strassen leicht erreichbar.
Die Landschaft der Insel Paros ist gepraegt von dem kleinen Gebirge Profitis Ilias (776m), Granit und Marmor bestimmen hier die Erdformationen. Der helle und durchscheinende parische Marmor war seit der Antike beruehmt und begehrt bei vielen Bildhauern in der damaligen Mittelmeerwelt und ist heute in vielen archaeologischen Museen zu bewundern. Einige alte Marmorbrueche, die sich tunnelartig tief hinunter in den Fels erstrecken, koennen (mit guten Taschenlampen) betreten werden - fuer Besucher mit klaustrophobischen Anwandlungen eher nicht empfehlenswert, denn es geht sehr dunkel und eng zu dort unten.
Kirche bei Naoussa

In den huegeligen Ebenen hingegen gibt es ausreichend fruchtbares Land und es gedeihen Zitrusfruechte, Obst und Oliven sowie ein guter und bekannter parischer Wein, dessen Kultivierung und Pflege zunehmend an Bedeutung gewinnt seitdem junge Winzer das Ruder uebernommen haben.

Heute lebt die Insel und ihre Bewohner in grossem Masse vom internationalen Tourismus, der seit den spaeten 70er Jahren nach Mykonos auch die umliegenden Inseln heimgesucht hat. Dennoch hat die Insel besonders in den Monaten Mai bis Juni oder September und Oktober noch ihren verführerischen Charme erhalten. Dann sitzt man morgens allein mit einigen Fischern in Naoussa im Hafen ( Foto unten ) und kann seinen "elleniko metrio" ungestört und in Ruhe geniessen.

Most rooms are on the small side, though the largest Superior Studio offers 40 sqm and sleeps up to 4 guests. Villa Isabella is well-located next to the public stairway leading down to Piperi Beach and less than a 5-minute walk to the heart of Naoussa village.

DIE SCHÖNSTEN STRÄNDE AUF PAROS:

Piperi Beach -

 The closest beach to Naoussa. Near several hotels but with no beach services. Sandy and swimmable.

Agii Anargyri Beach -

 Also near Naoussa, this busy beach has several hotels along its shoreline. The southwest end is rocky, but the rest is sandy, swimmable, and family-friendly.

Livadia Beach -

 The main beach in Parikia. This organized beach offers hotels, beach clubs, and water sports facilities. Great sand and swimming.

Kolymbithres Beach - 

Gorgeous beach with strange, granite rock formations straight out of a sci-fi movie. This picturesque beach is great for photos and fun for climbing, but it's not great for swimming.

Chrissi Akti - 

AKA Golden Beach, this organized beach has beautiful sand and great swimming and windsurfing. Plenty of hotels, beach clubs, restaurants, and water sports centers. Gets windy in July and August.

Lageri Beach -

 A secluded, hard to reach, nude beach. Some rocky and some sandy areas spread over a few little coves.

Santa Maria Beach - A lively, well-organized, sandy beach with plenty of restaurants, beach bars, and water sports centers. Wonderful for families with young children and teens. During windy July and August, head to the protected coves at the north end, called Mikri Santa Maria (Little Santa Maria).

Aliki Beaches - 

fishing village Aliki has 3 wonderful beaches: the sandy, swimmable main Aliki Beach with super fresh seafood tavernas and sunbeds to rent; Piso Aliki, a quieter pebbly beach; and Agios Nikolaos Aliki, the quietest of the 3, which has mostly sand but some pebbles, crystal clear water, and one lone taverna.

Faragas Beach - 

Secluded beach in a series of coves protected from the winds. Great sand and swimming. This beach is mostly unorganized, but there is one beach bar at the main cove.

Agia Irini Beach - 

AKA Palm Beach, this lively, swimmable beach is lined with palm trees and has a popular beach club. Great swimming here, but it can get crowded.

Parasporos Beach - Sandy, swimmable beach with a campground and a few beach bars that serve late into the night.

Ambelas Beach - 

Calm, family-friendly, andybeach with a few hotels and bars.
